Finding Surrey Chapel

Surrey Chapel from Botolph Street

How to get to Surrey Chapel, Norwich.

Surrey Chapel is on the inner link road, North of the City Centre, on the corner of St Crispin's Road and Botolph Street, close to Anglia Square shopping centre. The inner link road follows the line of the old city wall, remnants of which are very visible where you enter Norwich from most directions.

Parking

There is limited free parking at the rear of the Chapel and in the nearby streets on Sundays. There are inexpensive NCP Car Park alongside and at the end of Botolph Street.

Detailed Directions:

From the South

Entering Norwich by the A11 or the A140, cross the Ring Road and continue on towards the City Centre. At the roundabout turn left along Chapel Field Road, where the old city wall is clearly visible. You are now on the inner link road, more or less circular, dual carriageway. At the end of Chapel Field Road, taking the second exit at the roundabout, continue straight on down Grapes Hill; cross the lights onto Barn Road; turn right at the roundabout onto St Crispin's Road; at the next roundabout continue straight across and immediately pull into Botolph Street on the left. Surrey Chapel is on the left.

From the West

About 7 miles from Norwich, the A47 becomes dual carriageway. At the next exit, take the A1074 and enter Norwich on the Dereham Road. Cross the Ring Road and continue on towards the City Centre for about a further mile and a half. When you pass a Jet service station on your left you will see the old city wall ahead of you. Turn left at the traffic lights here onto Barn Road. You are now on the inner link road, more or less circular, dual carriageway; turn right at the roundabout onto St Crispin's Road; at the next roundabout continue straight across and immediately pull into Botolph Street on your left. Surrey Chapel is on the left.

From the East

From the A47, turn off onto the A1042, towards the City Centre. Stay on the A1042, turning right up Pound Lane: this is the Ring Road. At the roundabout at the end of St William's Way, take the second exit, Plumstead Road. At the bottom of Kett's Hill, go straight ahead at the roundabout onto the inner link road. After another roundabout Surrey Chapel is on the right just before the next roundabout, on the other side of the dual carriageway.

From the North

Surrey Chapel is situated where the A140 (Cromer/Aylsham Road) meets the inner link road. Follow the A140 until it becomes Pitt Street. Turn left at the roundabout onto the inner link road and pull in immediately to Botolph Street. Surrey Chapel is on the left.
